Sometimes the hardest thing is to get started. It’s like a plane, so much of the energy is in the take off. When we try to change, the force to start the change requires the most energy. Once we get cruising it takes very little energy to keep going. So the good news is once you build the goals and make them a habit it will take a lot less energy to keep it going. But it is a lot of effort to get started. So how do you start?
We start with one step, the first step, a wonderful place to start. The first one is the hardest. The first step will change your life. When you change your direction, for even one step, you change your destination. Just one degree of difference in a flight plan will be the difference in altering your destination by hundreds of miles.
To make the change you only have to take the first step and it doesn’t have to be a huge change. If you want to get exercise you can start with a walk to the end of the driveway today. Tomorrow you can walk two doors down. By the end of the week walk to the end of the block. Keep moving forward. Start and make small adjustments and you will see your goals be met.
Do you believe there is no hope and does that make it difficult for you to start? That lack of hope is often daunting. You can prove that wrong by taking that first step, just one step is all it takes. Take a step any step, Get started. Move, get the inertia going. Then change your direction even if it is slight it will make all the difference in the world.
Get started it will make for an “Amazing Life”
Worry less about the direction and more about the inertia. Get started. Remember back before vehicles had power steering. Why was power steering a big deal? Why was it easier to move that wheel when the car was moving at 40 miles per hour? Why did it need so much pressure to change the direction the wheels were pointed when the car was still? Can you tell me what the law is behind the reason and why it works? Tell me in the comments below what you will start doing in the next 24 hours?
